Accessing Outlook on the web for business using organizational credentials.
Hi
Thank you for reaching out.
To help determine whether the behavior is related to the users’ accounts, assigned services, or Microsoft 365 applications, please reach out to your organization's IT admin and share the following initial troubleshooting steps.
User 1: Able to access Outlook but unable to access OneDrive
- Verify the account and license
- In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Users > Active users and select the affected user.
- Confirm that the account is active and sign-in is not blocked.
- Open Licenses and apps and confirm that a valid Microsoft 365 license is assigned.
- Expand the license and verify that SharePoint Online is enabled, since OneDrive relies on this service.
- Test OneDrive on the web
- Ask the user to open an InPrivate browser window.
- Go to
https://www.microsoft365.com, sign in with the affected work account, and select OneDrive.
- Confirm whether OneDrive opens successfully or displays an error such as Access denied, Setting up your OneDrive, or a repeated sign-in prompt.
- Check OneDrive provisioning and sign-in logs
- In the Microsoft 365 admin center, open Help & support.
- Search for OneDrive provisioning, and run the recommended diagnostic for the user.
User 2: Unable to access email
- Verify the account, license, and mailbox
- In the Microsoft 365 admin center, confirm that the user account is active and sign-in is not blocked.
- Under Licenses and apps, verify that a valid license is assigned and Exchange Online is enabled.
- In the Exchange admin center, go to Recipients > Mailboxes and confirm that an active user mailbox exists for the account.
- Check mailbox status and sign-in failures
- In the Exchange admin center, go to Recipients > Mailboxes > General onfirm that the mailbox has not reached its storage limit.
- Review the user’s Microsoft Entra sign-in logs for password, MFA, Conditional Access, device compliance, or authentication failures.
For detailed guidance, your IT admin may refer to Sign-in logs in Microsoft Entra ID - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn
- If the mailbox opens but cannot send or receive messages, run a message trace in the Exchange admin center and provide any non-delivery report or error code.
For guidance on how to run a message trace, your IT admin may refer to Message trace in the new EAC in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn
Could you also confirm whether either user received an error message when attempting to access OneDrive or Outlook? If so, please provide the exact error message or error code, a screenshot, the approximate time of the attempt, and confirm whether the error occurred in the web browser, desktop application, or both.
Finally, were the licenses for either of these two users recently refreshed, reassigned, removed and added again, or otherwise changed? In case you do not know who is your IT admin, kindly refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
