How to reset Surface to factory settings

We got a SurfacePro Model 1796 from a business that closed and all computer assets were given away, a former employee is logged in this particular computer and I need to reset it to Factory settings. I am able to get to the point within the "Windows Recovery Environment" where it asks:

"Enter the recovery key to get going again ( Keyboard Layout:US)"

it provides me with the Recovery Key ID( to identify your key) but we do not have access to the business accounts. We do not have access to the former employee.

How can I reset it?

    The message you’re seeing is a BitLocker recovery prompt. That means the Surface Pro has BitLocker enabled, and Windows cannot continue until the recovery key is provided. The recovery key is tied to the Microsoft account or Azure AD account that originally set up the device. Since you don’t have access to the business accounts or the former employee’s credentials, there is no way to retrieve that recovery key. Microsoft does not provide a bypass method for BitLocker — this is by design to protect the data on the drive.

    The only way forward is to completely wipe the device and reinstall Windows from scratch. On a Surface Pro 1796, you can do this by creating a bootable USB with the latest Windows 11 installation media. Download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft on another PC, use it to create a bootable USB, then insert it into the Surface. Power off the Surface, hold the Volume Down button, and press Power to boot from USB. From there, delete all partitions during setup and perform a clean installation.
