Setting up future meetings with participants using Teams calendar or Outlook integration
This usually happens when the Teams meeting option or add-in is missing or disabled.
Try these checks in order:
- Verify Teams meetings can be scheduled from Teams itself.
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Check whether meeting scheduling is available there.
- If Teams sign-in or meeting scheduling is unavailable, the account may not have the required Microsoft 365 Teams capability.
- If Outlook for Microsoft 365 is being used, check whether the Teams Meeting add-in was disabled.
- A known issue is that the Teams Meeting add-in can become disabled in Outlook.
- This can cause the Teams meeting button to disappear, so only a normal event can be created without an online meeting link.
- Reinstall the Teams Meeting add-in.
- Right-click the Windows icon and select Installed apps.
- Search for Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office.
- Select the three-dot menu next to it and choose Uninstall.
- Close Outlook completely.
- Close Teams from the system tray and select Quit Teams.
- Restart the new Teams app.
- Wait until Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office appears again in Installed apps.
- Restart Outlook.
- Create the meeting again in Outlook.
- Open the calendar and create a new meeting.
- The Teams meeting option should return, and the online meeting link should be added to the event.
If the button is still missing after reinstalling the add-in, the remaining supported check is whether the same account can sign in to Teams and has Teams included for that account.
