Microsoft Exchange account issues in Apple Mail on macOS.

Hello, Support Team

I will try to explain the issue as briefly and clearly as possible.

When adding a Microsoft Exchange account to Apple Mail, we are experiencing the following problems:

The search function does not work properly on macOS. At the same time, emails that cannot be found through search on the MacBook can be found normally on the phone.

We are also experiencing synchronization issues. There are times when an email arrives on the phone, but the same email does not appear on the MacBook. In some cases, the situation is the opposite — the email appears on the MacBook but not on the phone.

As further evidence, we can mention that everything works properly in Outlook on the Web, including both search and synchronization. As we understand it, these issues may only be resolved by using Outlook directly on macOS, since the problems described above occur quite frequently and continue to reappear periodically despite numerous troubleshooting attempts.

We would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide and would be grateful for your recommendations on how to resolve these issues.

Thank you in advance!

Sincerely.

    Hello @Giorgi Bebiashvili

Thank you for providing such a detailed description of the issue.

Based on the information you've shared, since Microsoft Exchange appears to be working correctly in Outlook on the Web (including both email synchronization and search), this may be more related to the Apple Mail application itself rather than the Exchange account or Microsoft 365 service.

As this is a Microsoft Community forum and Apple Mail is a third-party application, you may wish to try reinstalling Apple Mail by following the guidance in this article:

How to delete and reinstall Apple Mail

Disclaimer: This link is shared for your convenience and points to a third-party website that is not managed or verified by Microsoft. Please review the content carefully and ensure you understand any potential risks before downloading or installing software from external sources.

Since the issue affects search functionality and synchronization behavior specifically within Apple Mail, while Outlook on the Web continues to function normally, this tends to suggest an application-side issue rather than a problem with the Exchange account itself.

You may also consider posting this question in the Apple Community, where specialists and users with deeper expertise in Apple Mail and macOS synchronization behavior may be able to provide more targeted assistance and troubleshooting recommendations:

As this Microsoft Community primarily supports Microsoft products and services, Apple-specific issues may be better addressed by the Apple Community or Apple Support team.

Thank you again for your time and understanding.  I really appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help. Looking forward to your response.
