Using Outlook for Android in business environments for email and scheduling
Since receiving works but sending moves messages to Drafts on Outlook for Android, the supported checks are:
- Check Microsoft service status. If the status is not green, sending can fail until the service recovers.
- Check mailbox and Microsoft cloud storage capacity. If storage is full, Outlook.com cannot send or receive email.
- Check Drafts for interrupted sends. If the app was closed before sending completed, the message may have been moved to Drafts.
- Check whether the account is temporarily blocked due to unusual sign-in activity. Updating the password or unblocking the Outlook.com account can be required.
- Remove and recreate the mobile device partnership for the mailbox:
- In Outlook.com, go to Settings > General > Mobile devices.
- Select the Android device and delete the device partnership.
- Select Save.
- Power off the phone completely.
- Restart it after a few seconds and sync the mailbox again.
- If the account was just created, confirm the verification email was received and completed. New Outlook.com accounts must be verified before they can send messages.
- If a daily sending limit was exceeded, wait and follow the Outlook.com sync issue guidance for sending limits.
If these checks do not resolve it, use the Outlook.com interactive troubleshooter or the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant mobile email check.
