Why is it my kindle app no longer works on my MS surface pro and is there a replacement app

    Old Kindle for PC app: Discontinued by Amazon in 2026.

    New Kindle Windows app: Available through the Microsoft Store, but does not currently work properly on ARM/Snapdragon Surface devices, such as the Surface Pro 11.

    Best current option: Use Kindle for Web through Microsoft Edge or Chrome.

    Avoid: Downloading old Kindle installers from unofficial websites.

    Main limitation: Kindle for Web is good for reading but may not provide all the features of the desktop Kindle app, especially offline reading and some advanced book features.

    If your Surface Pro 11 is the Snapdragon/ARM model, the Kindle app problem is a compatibility issue, not a fault with your Surface. For now, Kindle for Web is the safest replacement.
