How do I Add incoming Electronic Faxing to my University email system? Where do I find the instructions for adding this function to my favorites Email list for a department specific fax line?

    Hi Kirk,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I would like to provide the following information:

Outlook/Microsoft 365 does not include a built-in electronic fax (eFax) service.

To receive faxes via email, an organization typically needs the following:

    • A Fax-over-IP or Cloud Fax service (such as eFax, RightFax, XMedius, SRFax, OpenText Fax, etc.).
    • A fax number assigned to the department.
    • A configuration that converts incoming faxes into PDF or TIFF files and delivers them to the appropriate email address or email group.

In this situation, you will need to contact your school's IT or telecommunications department for assistance with deploying and configuring an electronic fax service.

Once configured, incoming faxes are typically delivered to a shared mailbox that you can access in Outlook. You can also add this shared mailbox to your Favorites list for easier access.

I hope this information is helpful.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.
