I was billed $19.99 for Microsoft when I never received a notice and never approved renewal

I do not wish to renew this product. Don't even remember the last time this was renewed. I rarely use my computer. I'm retired and don't have a need for any of the products offered. I wish to request a refund for an unauthorized charge.

Yes, I went in to the website. It took me awhile to navigate and I couldn't remove PayPal as a payment method so they just took it upon themselves to renew when I never authorized. I took the steps you recommended. Thank you.

Glad to assist!

I'm glad you were able to get through the account settings.

For the subscription and the $19.99 charge, these are the options:

  • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
  • Find the subscription and select "Manage."
  • Select "Cancel subscription" or "Turn off recurring billing," whichever option is shown.
  • If you see "Turn on recurring billing," then automatic renewal is already turned off.
  • If the subscription is eligible for a refund, Microsoft should show the refund option during the cancellation process.

You can also check the $19.99 charge and any refund status here: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders

For PayPal, you can try removing it from your Microsoft account payment options after the subscription is no longer using it.

If you need further information, please let me know.

Thanks!
