Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Dear @Simone Vilbert
I understand how concerning this can be after changing laptops, especially when the same account was previously being used on your Mac.
If you can send emails from Outlook on the Windows laptop but are not receiving new messages, the first thing I would check is whether the messages are arriving in your mailbox but Outlook is not synchronizing them.
Please sign in to Outlook on the web with the same Microsoft account and check whether the missing/new emails appear there.
- If the emails are visible in Outlook on the web, your mailbox is receiving mail correctly, and the issue is most likely with Outlook on the Windows laptop's synchronization or account setup. In that case, I recommend manually syncing the account. In Classic Outlook, select Send/Receive > Send/Receive All Folders; in New Outlook, select View > Sync. Microsoft documents these steps here: Sync to manually check for new mail and to send messages in Outlook
- If the emails are also missing from Outlook on the web, this is not simply an issue with the old Mac still syncing. We would then need to investigate the mailbox/account itself.
You can also confirm that Outlook is connected. In Classic Outlook, if the status bar shows Working Offline, Disconnected, or Trying to connect, Outlook will not be able to synchronize new mail.
If the account needs to be added again to the new laptop, Microsoft provides the supported steps here: Add an email account to Outlook for Windows
Please let me know whether the missing emails are visible in Outlook on the web. That will tell us whether we should focus on the mailbox or the Outlook application on the new laptop.
