How to fix image quality for Viva Amplify Outlook emails

Images are sized down significantly and look blurry in emails, is there any fix for this? We rely heavily on this platform for technical email with documentation images and the low quality is frustrating.

    Hi Julia,

Good day and thank you for the clear description of the issue.

To help me understand the situation better, kindly provide some additional details:

1/Does the image quality issue occur across all viewing experiences, such as:

2/ Do other recipients also experience the same issue, or is it only affecting specific users?

3/Is the issue occurring with all images in the publication, or only with certain images (for example, screenshots containing text or technical documentation)?

While waiting for your response, you may consider the following workarounds:

    1/ Upload higher-resolution source images

    • Use PNG format for screenshots and technical documentation.
    • Start with images at least 2× the intended display size so that downscaling retains more detail.

2/ Avoid placing detailed screenshots in narrow content blocks

Even if the original image is sharp, displaying it at a smaller width in the email can make text unreadable. Consider linking to the full-size image or hosting the documentation on SharePoint and linking to it.

3/ Test in multiple Outlook clients

Outlook desktop, Outlook on the web, and the new Outlook may render images differently. Some image degradation may be caused by Outlook's rendering engine rather than Amplify itself.

4/ Use links instead of embedded technical screenshots

For highly detailed documentation, many organizations use Amplify for communication and include links to SharePoint pages, PDFs, or knowledge articles where full-resolution images are preserved.

Feel free to try the suggestions above and let me know the results in the comments once you've had a chance to test them.

The more details you can share, the better the community can assist with further troubleshooting and recommendations.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your updates.
