On March 6, 2026, I purchased Microsoft 365 for business order number: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]. I paid for it with my business credit card. At 10:45 a.m. I received an email with a link to the admin center.

At 4:04pm I sent the following email:

When i go to the microsoft 365 admin center, it says my account does not exist.

Not happy

On May 15th, I tried to download Adobe, but couldn't. I didn't have the time to mess with it.

In the past few weeks I have tried to download Adobe and Epson software, but couldn't because I, the owner and purchaser am not the admin.

I have spent hours trying to figure out how to solve this. No one from microsoft has been able to help me.

I decided my only remedy is to cancel my subscription, uninstall the 365 software, and purchase a new one.

I can't because I am not the administrator. I need help. I needs someone to fix it.

Please someone HELP

I have a very important presentation on Tuesday. I am very disappointed in Microsoft. I have always been able to get help before

Sincerely,

    Dear @Carol Law,

Since you purchased the Microsoft 365 Business subscription but cannot access the Microsoft 365 admin center as an administrator, the first step is to recover access to the correct Microsoft 365 tenant. You should not need to purchase another subscription simply because the administrator account is inaccessible.

Normally, the person who signs up for a Microsoft 365 Business subscription is assigned administrator permissions by default.

    I recommend the following:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and make sure you are signing in with the exact work/school account that was used when the subscription was purchased.
    2. If you receive a message that the account does not exist or that you do not have permission to access the admin center, do not create another Microsoft 365 tenant. This may indicate that you are signing in with a different Microsoft account than the account associated with the original subscription.
    3. If you are the only administrator and cannot recover the administrator account, contact Microsoft 365 Business Support and explain that you are the subscription purchaser and need help recovering access to the tenant's administrator account. Microsoft may need to verify ownership of the subscription before assisting.
    4. Once you regain administrator access, you can go to Billing > Your products, select the Microsoft 365 subscription, and cancel it or turn off recurring billing, depending on the subscription and billing account type. Microsoft documents that the required billing permissions depend on whether the account uses MCA or MOSA billing.

If your immediate priority is the presentation on Tuesday, I would also avoid uninstalling Microsoft 365 until you have confirmed that your files are safely available and that you have another working Office installation. Cancelling the subscription can put Microsoft 365 into a reduced-functionality state, and Microsoft recommends backing up important data before cancellation.

For the support request, I would clearly state: “I am the purchaser and billing account owner, but I cannot access the administrator account associated with my Microsoft 365 Business tenant. I need help recovering administrative access so I can manage or cancel the subscription.”

I hope this helps you get the account issue resolved without having to purchase Microsoft 365 again.
