For Spain, Local phone numbers are available with Make Calls: General Availability and Receive Calls: General Availability. SMS send/receive is not available for Spanish local numbers.
To acquire a Spain phone number:
- Use a paid Azure subscription. Phone numbers can’t be acquired with Azure free credits.
- Verify the subscription billing location is one of the supported countries/regions for Spain phone numbers: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States.
- In Azure portal, open the Communication Services resource.
- Go to Phone numbers in the left menu.
- Select Get to launch the purchase wizard.
- Choose Spain as the Country/region.
- Choose Local as the number type.
If the portal requires special ordering, the documented process is:
- In Phone Numbers, select Request a Special Order.
- Open a new case at https://aka.ms/ContactTNS.
- Select Azure Communication Service as the customer profile.
- Choose the required Country/Region.
- Select New TN Acquisition as the case type.
- Fill in the request details and submit.
The available documentation confirms Spain local number availability and the general/special-order acquisition flow, but it does not provide a Spain-specific number request form list or a direct provisioning path for a Madrid 91 number from here. The supported next step is to submit a special order case for Spain / Local / 1 number / inbound and outbound voice / no SMS through the documented special-order process.
