Azure for Students credit consumed by Power BI Embedded A1 - how can I request a credit review?

Hello,

I am using an Azure for Students subscription.

A Power BI Embedded A1 resource unintentionally consumed almost all of my $100 student credit. I was not actively using the service and did not realize that charges would continue while the resource was running.

I have already deleted the resource.

The Azure portal says there are no invoices eligible for an expedited refund and suggests contacting support.

Could someone please advise how I can request a review of the consumed Azure for Students credit and whether a one-time credit adjustment is possible?

Thank you.

    Hey there, אלישבע בינדר

You will need to submit a support request to the Azure billing team using the help and support blade in the Azure portal here: https://portal.azure.com/#blade/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade

Once you have signed into your account, please click onto "Create a support request" and create your support request to the team. Please select the billing team as an option, and your Azure Student subscription as the subscription the resource was attached to.

You will be provided with support articles that may help you resolve your problem. One of these will be to request a refund. However, please ignore these and keep scrolling down to the bottom where you will see contact support, then create a support ticket.

I would strongly suggest creating a budget for your subscription through the Azure portal. To do this, please sign into your account on the Cost Management & Billing blade here: https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade/~/Overview

Please click onto the subscription you wish to set up a billing alert/budget for from the "Your subscriptions" table at the bottom of the page.

You just need to click onto the name of the subscription. This will open up the subscription details page where you can manage your subscription. On the left hand side navigation menu, please click onto "Budgets" found under the Cost Management option.

    User's image

This will load any budgets you have set for your subscription. The table should be empty. Please can you click onto "Add" at the top of the table.

This will allow you to set monthly budgets for your subscription. This will allow you to control your spending and receive alerts if your current costs or forecasted costs are going to go above the allocated budget. This will allow you to stop any resource on the subscription so you don't incur any unexpected charges. To learn more about this feature, please see this article here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/costs/tutorial-acm-create-budgets?tabs=psbudget

    Hope this information helps,
    Nathan
