Excel files disappeared, Excel saying to sign in

I have confirmed my Microsoft account is in good standing. Normally when I open Excel on my iPad Pro I see recent spreadsheets I have been using and just click on the one I want to work in. The other day I noticed some of those spreadsheets did not show up to click on as usual and after hunting around they were no where to be found - in recent files, on my iPad, or even on my iCloud Drive. I also noticed Excel keeps asking me to sign in. When I sign in it brings me back to the same page and still shows I need to sign in. But when I click on my account profile, it shows I am signed in.

Hi, Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with this. Could you please try signing in directly at OneDrive.com using the same email account? Once there, check whether your files are available online and confirm whether you are able to access the account without errors.

This will help determine whether the issue is related to the account itself or only to the app/sync on the device.

That is more like a sync or account authentication issue than missing files. Hopefully a fresh sign-out and sign-in resolves it, just like tools that Compress video without losing quality keep your data intact.
