Surface Pro 7 storage management

I have deleted all but the most essential programs and still I am only have 16GB free and using 101GB. Is there any automated Microsoft software to trouble shoot or maximize the storage on the device?

    Thanks for reaching out. There are a couple of built-in Microsoft tools that do this fairly automatically:

    • Cleanup recommendations (Settings > System > Storage > Cleanup recommendations) — this is the closest to a one-click "scan and maximize." It analyzes the drive and hands you temp files, large/unused files, Windows.old, and rarely used apps to clear in one pass.
    • Storage Sense (same Storage page) — the automated, set-and-forget one; it runs on its own to clear temp files and the Recycle Bin, and can make old OneDrive files online-only.
    • Disk Cleanup (press Win+R, type cleanmgr, pick C: > Clean up system files) — for the heavier one-time reclaim, especially Windows Update Cleanup and Windows.old, which are often several GB on their own.

    It's also worth a quick look at Settings > System > Storage first to see which category is actually eating the 101 GB. That tells you whether it's system/reserved files, temp data, or something else, so the cleanup actually targets the right thing.
