A refund may be possible, but it depends on what subscription was purchased, when it was charged, and how it was bought.
For Microsoft 365 or other Microsoft subscriptions purchased directly from Microsoft:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy the subscription.
- Under Services & subscriptions, find the subscription (for example, Microsoft 365, Copilot Pro, Clipchamp, extra OneDrive storage, Xbox/Game Pass, etc.) and select Manage.
- Select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and follow the on‑screen steps to cancel.
- If you see Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and won’t be charged again.
- After cancellation, refund eligibility is determined by Microsoft’s refund rules:
- For Microsoft 365, refund eligibility is shown during cancellation and may include prorated refunds in some countries (such as Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey).
- For Copilot Pro, in most countries a prorated refund is available if cancellation is within 14 days of initial purchase; in certain listed countries/regions, a prorated refund is available any time.
- For other Microsoft subscriptions (Clipchamp, extra OneDrive storage, etc.), some countries also allow prorated refunds depending on subscription length.
If the subscription was purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store, cancellation and refunds must be requested from Google or Apple using their own refund processes.
If there are billing issues (duplicate charges, unrecognized charges, or if the self‑service flow does not resolve the case), contact Microsoft Support via the Contact Support options in the refund article to have an agent review eligibility.
