Can't use Word app on MAC

MAC app will only allow me view docs and not edit

I have business basic 365 subscription and am unable to work on docs in word app on mac

    Thank you for reaching out.  

    As far as I know, the Microsoft 365 Business Basic plan only includes access to web-based Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). It does not include full editing rights in the desktop Word app on Mac, which is why you can only view documents there. 

    If you need to edit Word in the Mac app, you would need a license that includes desktop apps, such as: Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Microsoft 365 Apps for business.
