I am trying to work out my possible time for a 5K Park Run.  If I go out and do say 5.7K in 7 minutes 25 seconds how can I translate this into time for a 5K run at this pace?  So if it is that time for 5.7k how long would one K take and then how would 5K take?

If you run 5.7K in 7 minutes 25 seconds, first convert the total time into seconds so it is easier to work with.

7 minutes 25 seconds = 445 seconds.

To find the time per kilometer:

time per K = total time divided by distance

445 divided by 5.7 = about 78.07 seconds per K.

78.07 seconds is about 1 minute 18 seconds per kilometer.

Now work out the projected 5K time at the same pace:

5K time = time per K multiplied by 5

78.07 multiplied by 5 = 390.35 seconds.

390.35 seconds converts to about 6 minutes 30 seconds.

So at the same pace, a 5K would take roughly 6 minutes 30 seconds.
