I can not change my time zone back to my local time

I have a business trip to US, and set to US time at that time, but now I am back to hk, all my time zone in outlook, teams and OS system setting I change to hk time, but in my profile still us time. Screenshot 2026-06-11 at 11.20.00

To double check where the issue is, you can follow these steps:

1/ Fix your Outlook (web) time zone

Sometimes the "mailbox time zone" overrides everything else.

Go to Outlook Web version: https://outlook.office.com
Click "Settings"
Go to: General -> Language and time
Change: Time zone -> (UTC+08:00) Hong Kong SAR
Click "Save"

2/ Check your Microsoft 365 profile (regional setting)

Your "profile still showing US time" usually comes from here.

Go to: https://myaccount.microsoft.com
Click: "Your info"
Look for: Region / Country
Update to: Region: Hong Kong

3/ Fix Teams time zone

Teams follows your system, but sometimes caches old settings.

Open "Teams"
Click your profile picture -> "Settings"
Go to: General / Language
Confirm: Time zone is Hong Kong

After that, you can

Sign out of Teams
Close it completely
Reopen + sign back in

Change settings in Microsoft Teams

If this issue still continues, you can try to clear Teams cache to reset the app:

Clear the Teams client cache

Besides, you can try to access Teams via web version to see if it is updated: https://teams.cloud.microsoft/

Teams and Outlook use several different time‑zone settings. To make everything show Hong Kong time again, update all of these and then restart the apps.

Confirm device time zone
- On Windows: Settings → Time & language → Date & time → set Time zone to (UTC+08:00) Hong Kong (or equivalent) and correct date/time.
- On macOS: System Settings → General → Date & Time → either turn on Set time zone automatically in Hong Kong, or manually choose a closest city in Hong Kong’s time zone.
Make Teams follow the device time zone
- In Teams desktop, select Settings and more (…) → Settings → General.
- Under Language and regional formats, either:
  - Turn Follow OS settings ON so Teams uses the device’s region/time; or
  - Turn it OFF and manually set App language, Date format, and Time format appropriate for Hong Kong.
- Restart Teams so the change is applied.
Ensure Teams region/time zone is correct
- Teams takes region and time from the OS. After changing the OS region/time (step 1) and enabling Follow OS settings (step 2), Teams will show the correct local time for presence, meetings, and profile cards.
Verify Outlook time zones
- New Outlook (Windows or web):
  - Open Settings → Calendar > View.
  - Under Time zones, set Display my calendar in time zone to the Hong Kong time zone and Save.
  - If additional time zones were added for the US, remove them or move Hong Kong to the top using Move up/Move down, then Save.
- Outlook for Mac:
  - Outlook → Settings → Calendar → Time zones.
  - Ensure Default time zone is Hong Kong Standard Time and that any second/third time zones are set as desired.
Check Microsoft 365 account regional settings (if still wrong in web apps)
- Sign in to Microsoft 365 in a browser.
- Open Settings → Change your language (or Microsoft 365 settings → Settings → Language and time zone, depending on the tenant configuration).
- Set the correct Time zone (Hong Kong) and Save.

If the profile card in Teams still shows US time after these steps, sign out of Teams on all devices, close the app completely, then sign back in so cached profile data refreshes.
