A refund can’t be processed directly here. If the device doesn’t meet the system requirements and Excel (Microsoft 365/Office) can’t be installed, the purchase and subscription need to be managed through the Microsoft account and standard subscription/refund process.
- Sign in to the Microsoft account that was used to buy the subscription and check the active subscriptions and charges at the Services page: https://account.microsoft.com/services
- Follow the steps in the cancel/refund guidance to see if the subscription is eligible for a refund: https://support.microsoft.com/office/cancel-a-microsoft-365-subscription-46e2634c-c64b-4c65-94b9-2cc9c960e91b
- If self-service options do not show a refund path, contact Microsoft Support from the same account for further help.
If the device cannot run the full desktop apps because it does not meet system requirements, Excel can still be used via the free Microsoft 365 apps in a browser on supported devices, as described in the system-requirements and install-troubleshooting articles.
