Organizing and editing contact information within Microsoft Teams Free
To sync Gmail contacts to Microsoft Teams (free) or Teams for personal and small business use, first connect Google contacts to Teams, then use them in Teams.
On desktop (Teams for personal/small business / Microsoft Teams Free):
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Select Settings and more (three dots) > Settings.
- Select People.
- Under Sync contacts, select Manage.
- Choose From Google.
- Sign in with the Google account and grant access when prompted.
Using a screen reader (keyboard path):
- While signed in to Teams for personal and small business use, press Ctrl+Comma (,) to open Settings.
- Press the Down arrow until focus is on People, then press Enter.
- Tab to From Google, then press Enter.
- In the Google sign-in page, select the Google account, enter the password, and choose Allow when asked to let Microsoft apps and services access the Google account.
- When prompted, choose Open to return to Teams and complete the sync.
After syncing, Google contacts become available in Teams and can be used to start chats, calls, or invitations.
If Google data (including contacts) ever needs to be removed from Teams on desktop:
- Open Microsoft Teams (free).
- Go to Settings and more > Settings > Privacy.
- Under Sync accounts, select Remove next to From Google. This disconnects and removes Google contacts from Teams.
