    Hi @Logan,

If your school account shows as inactive and you’re unable to reactivate it, this is usually managed directly by your school’s IT/admin team rather than by Microsoft. School accounts are controlled by the organization that created them, and access can expire if your enrollment status changes or the license is removed.

I’d recommend checking a few things first:

    1. Try signing in at Microsoft 365 Portal using your full school email address.
    2. If you see messages like “account disabled,” “license removed,” or “account doesn’t exist,” contact your school’s IT help desk or student support team and ask them to:
      • confirm your student account is still active
      • verify your Microsoft 365 Education license is assigned
      • re-enable the account if it was disabled

If you recently changed semesters, graduated, or had a gap in enrollment, the school may have automatically deactivated the account.

You can also check whether your school still provides Microsoft 365 Education access here: Microsoft 365 Education eligibility page
    Hope this information will help.

A school Microsoft 365 account can only be reactivated or extended by the school or organization that owns it. When the account is marked no longer active, access to services like Microsoft 365 Education, email, and OneDrive is controlled entirely by the institution’s IT or admin team.

To try to get it reactivated:

    1. Contact the school’s IT/help desk or technical support (often linked from the university or school website) and explain that the student account has been deactivated.
    2. Ask whether the school still provides Microsoft 365 Education licenses for current students and whether the account can be re-enabled or extended.
    3. If the school confirms that the old account cannot be reactivated (for example, after graduation or withdrawal), ask whether a new account will be issued or whether eligibility for Microsoft 365 Education still applies.
    4. If the school participates in Microsoft 365 Education and a valid school email address is available, sign up or confirm eligibility at the education site referenced in the documentation: https://www.microsoft.com/education/products/office.

If no one at the school can restore the account, it cannot be reactivated directly through Microsoft; only the institution’s administrator can manage or restore a work or school account.
