Having trouble adding phone number to Microsoft account

Microsoft has removed the ability to add a phone number to a personal Outlook/Hotmail/Microsoft Account.

It's gone. Not there for anybody. You can remove an existing phone number but you can not add a new one or change an existing one. "By design", not a bug. There is no way around it.

i cant find add phone number button. i havent added any numbers previously and i want to add mine

there is no add phone number in my dashboard

For personal Microsoft accounts, Microsoft now says you can no longer add a phone number as a new security method.
