Hi there,

I can't login to OneDrive online on my laptop, it says "503 Service Unavailable," But I can access OneDrive via the App on my phone.

Please advise how I can resolve this issue.

Thanks,
Denise

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

This error usually indicates that the connection between your device and Microsoft servers is not working properly. You can check the Service Health Status page to see if there are any known service interruptions in your region.

Meanwhile, please check whether the same issue occurs when your device is connected to a different Wi‑Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot network, and see if you are able to sign in to OneDrive normally:

You can also try opening a private/incognito browser window or accessing OneDrive in your mobile web browser to see if it works there.

In addition, clear your browsing history, cache, and cookies.

Let me know if you are able to sign in successfully.

The 503 "Service Unavailable" error when accessing OneDrive in a browser usually indicates a temporary service-side or throttling issue rather than a problem with the device, which explains why access still works from the mobile app.

Try the following steps on the laptop:

    1. Wait and avoid repeatedly refreshing
      • A 503 or similar "Server is busy" message can be caused by throttling in the SharePoint/OneDrive service. Repeated refreshes can worsen the delay.
      • Leave the page for a few minutes and then try again.
    2. Check if the issue is widespread
      • If other users on the same network or in the same Microsoft 365 tenant also see slowness or errors accessing OneDrive or SharePoint, it is likely a temporary service issue.
      • In an organization/tenant scenario, an admin should check the Microsoft 365 Service Health Dashboard to see if there is an active incident affecting SharePoint or OneDrive.
    3. Confirm account and sign-in
      • Since the mobile app works, the account itself is likely fine. If prompted again in the browser, sign out completely from all Microsoft accounts in the browser, close the browser, reopen it, and sign back in to OneDrive.
    4. Try again later
      • If the 503 persists but the mobile app continues to work, this typically resolves once the service-side throttling or temporary outage is cleared.

If the problem continues for an extended period and affects multiple users, an admin should open a support case with Microsoft after checking service health.
