Backup from Android S24 to One Drive

Yes, it is safe to delete photos from the S24 device, with some important conditions:

1. Camera roll backup to OneDrive is one‑way only
   On Android, the camera roll backup in the OneDrive app only backs up from the phone to OneDrive; it does not sync both ways. Deleting a photo from the device does not delete the already backed‑up copy in OneDrive.
2. Confirm that backup is turned on and completed
   On the S24:
   • Open the OneDrive app.
   • Tap the account image at the top.
   • Make sure Camera backup is turned on and that recent photos show as uploaded (no pending/failed uploads).
3. Samsung Gallery + OneDrive integration caution
   If the S24 is using Samsung Gallery’s OneDrive integration (Gallery syncing directly with OneDrive), that is bi‑directional sync:
   • Deleting files from the Samsung Gallery folder in OneDrive or from Samsung Gallery will delete them in the other place as well and move them to the OneDrive Recycle Bin.
