The Pro Plus product is not designed for home users. It is a volume license, which means it is intended for organizations, not individuals. These licenses are managed by an organization’s IT department and are tied to a contract with Microsoft.

Because of how volume licensing works, activation may depend on things like installation limits or periodic validation through an organization’s KMS server. Those processes require IT support from the organization that owns the license.

That is why these licenses are not meant to be sold to individuals. Home users typically do not have access to the IT infrastructure needed to manage or maintain them.

Unfortunately, some third-party sellers offer these licenses at very low prices. They may seem like a good deal, but they are often resold in ways that violate the licensing terms. Most buyers are not aware of these details until problems occur. You should request for your money back because you were lied to/scammed.

The “Service unavailable – technical difficulties” message when redeeming an Office 2024 Professional Plus key is a common symptom of trying to use a volume license product that is not intended for individual/home users.

Office Professional Plus / LTSC Professional Plus / “Pro Plus” 2024 are volume license products. They are designed for organizations and are normally distributed and activated through an organization’s volume licensing agreement and infrastructure (for example, via KMS or MAK keys managed by an IT department), not via the consumer redemption site at setup.office.com. These licenses are not meant to be sold individually to home users.

    In similar cases:

    • Users who purchased “Office 2024 Professional Plus” or “LTSC Professional Plus 2024” from third‑party sellers were advised that these are volume licenses not valid for resale to consumers.
    • The practical resolution was to dispute the purchase with the seller and request a refund, as Microsoft cannot convert or fix such keys for personal use.

    Recommended actions:

    1. Check the exact product name on the purchase (if it includes “Professional Plus”, “Pro Plus”, “LTSC Professional Plus”, or similar, it is almost certainly a volume license product).
    2. Contact the seller and request a refund, explaining that the product is a volume license not intended for individual resale and cannot be redeemed on setup.office.com.
    3. If a refund is not provided, pursue whatever buyer protection options are available (payment provider, marketplace dispute, etc.).
    4. For a legitimate, supported license for personal use, purchase a retail Office product or Microsoft 365 subscription directly from Microsoft or another reputable retailer. Before buying another key, review Microsoft’s tips for safer shopping and the warning about “Beware of Product Keys Sold Separately” in the product key guidance.

For direct assistance from Microsoft regarding product keys (for example, if there is doubt about the key type or validity), use the official support channel at Microsoft support.
