    Hi,

To better assist you and guide you to the right solution, could you please check and confirm the following details?

What exactly happens when you say it does not work? What is the exact error message?

Are you using Windows or macOS?

Do you see your Office license listed as active there?

Office Professional 2024 requires a supported version of Windows or macOS. If the current operating system is older than the supported versions, the installer will show an “Unsupported operating system” error and Office 2024 will not work.

Supported operating systems for current Office versions include, for example:

    • PC: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2008 R2
    • Mac: macOS X 10.10

    To resolve this:

    1. Check the device’s operating system version.
    2. Compare it with the Office system requirements at the Office system requirements page.
    3. If the OS is not supported, either:
      • Upgrade the operating system to a supported version, then install Office 2024, or
      • If upgrading is not possible, contact Microsoft Support or the seller to discuss options, such as obtaining a version of Office that supports the current OS.

If the wrong platform edition was purchased (for example, a Mac version for a Windows PC or vice versa), sign in to the Microsoft account at Services & subscriptions and verify whether the product is listed “for PC” or “for Mac.” If the wrong one was purchased for the hardware, contact Microsoft Support to request a change.
