Organizing and editing contact information within Microsoft Teams Free
To sync Outlook contacts with Microsoft Teams (Teams Free and consumer Teams use the same contact store as Outlook.com), enable contact sync in Teams so those Outlook/Microsoft account contacts become available in Teams.
On Teams for Windows or Mac
- Open Teams and sign in with the same Microsoft account used in Outlook.
- Select Settings and more (three dots) > Settings > People.
- Under Sync contacts, select Manage.
- Choose From Outlook.com (or From Outlook / From Outlook.com depending on UI):
- Your email address appears.
- Select Sync to add your Outlook contacts to Teams.
- After sync completes, go to People or the contact picker in Teams; Outlook contacts will be available for chats and calls on desktop and web.
On Teams mobile (iOS/Android) If Outlook contacts are also on the mobile device (for example via the Outlook mobile app or device address book):
- Tap the profile picture in Teams.
- Tap Settings > People.
- Turn Sync my device contacts On.
- If prompted, allow access to contacts on the device.
- After syncing, those contacts are available in Teams on mobile and will also be searchable in Teams on Windows, Mac, and web.
Notes
- Contacts synced through Teams (from Outlook.com, mobile device, Google, iCloud, Skype) appear under People > My contacts in Outlook.com and can be viewed/managed there or in the new Outlook.
- Turning off Sync my device contacts in Teams mobile removes those device contacts from Outlook.com but does not delete other Microsoft account contacts.
