Viewing bookings in Microsoft Bookings in month view

When using Microsoft Bookings, it's useful to get an overview of appointments in using the "Month" view but I noticed when using a smaller screen, say a laptop screen, that it sometimes doesn't display bookings when there are multiple bookings on a day.

For example, in my screenshot below there are 4 bookings on 25/04 but in the month view I only see the one for "Rosewood Court" with no indication of there being any other bookings until I click on the day and the window on the right appears.

I accept that I am using a smaller screen, so the application needs to scale to fit in the screen, but I'm confused as to why on some days, for example 20/04, it is able to show multiple bookings on the same day.

In new outlook when it cannot display all the appointments in a day it'll put "+2"to indicate there's two more then what the current view is able to display, is it possible to have similar functionality in Microsoft Bookings? Is anybody else experiencing this?

    Hello @Ryan Conway,

    Thank you for your question.

From my testing, this behavior is actually by design in Microsoft Bookings. In the Month view, the system only displays a limited number of bookings per day when the screen size is smaller, which is why not all appointments are shown in the calendar grid.

This happens because the interface is designed to automatically adjust the content to fit within each calendar cell. The UI will try to display the booking entries within the available space, but when there are too many bookings for a single day and not enough room, it will only show one (or a limited number of) items instead of all.

However, I did find that this behavior is related to screen scaling. If you zoom out your browser or reduce the display scaling, more bookings will gradually become visible. For example, in my test (as shown in the screenshot), when I reduced the zoom level to around 50%, all bookings for that day were displayed correctly in the Month view.

If you don’t find this inconvenient, you may try adjusting the zoom level as a temporary workaround.

That said, I understand that having an indicator such as “+X more” (like in Outlook) would be more user‑friendly. If you feel this would be an important improvement, I recommend submitting feedback to Microsoft here: Bookings · Community

Microsoft Bookings does not currently provide a “+N more” indicator in the month view like the new Outlook calendar does. On smaller screens, the month view shows only as many bookings as can fit in the cell; additional bookings for that day are visible only when selecting the day and using the details pane on the right.

There is no configuration option in Bookings to change this behavior or to force a condensed “+N” style display. For an overview of all appointments when the month view is too dense, the supported alternatives are:

    • Use the right‑hand day details pane (as in the screenshot) to see all bookings for the selected date.
    • Export bookings data (for shared booking pages) and review it in a spreadsheet, which can give a complete multi‑month overview regardless of screen size.

    To export:

    1. Open Bookings.
    2. On the Shared Bookings home page, select Export.
    3. Choose the date range and select Export to download a TSV file, then open it in Excel or another spreadsheet tool.

If this layout limitation impacts usage, the behavior can be submitted as product feedback through the usual Microsoft feedback channels.
