    Greetings!

This is Christine, Sorry to hear that you're experiencing issue with accessing your Outlook account. No worries, a lot of users are also experiencing this since the Hotmail/Outlook server is having Service degradation. Microsoft is already aware of this and already working on it. So let's wait for it to be fixed. Your patience is appreciated.

If your account is locked out, under the Microsoft Consumer Product, look for Outlook section, please follow the steps from https://portal.office.com/servicestatus

You can also check there when the service is already up and running or fixed.

    Thank you,

    Christine

For consumer Outlook/Microsoft accounts, the exact unlock time isn’t shown and can vary slightly, but the practical guidance is:

    • The lockout period is typically about 24 hours from the last failed/recovery attempt.
    • Each new sign-in, password reset, or recovery-form attempt during this period can restart the cooldown.

To maximize the chance of success:

    1. Stop all sign-in and recovery attempts for at least 24 hours (ideally a bit longer to be safe).
    2. After that wait, try again once from a familiar device, browser, and network, using the normal sign-in or the account recovery form.

If the account is an Outlook.com/Microsoft account and recovery attempts have hit daily limits, access is only restored once the automated lockout and rate limits expire; there’s no manual override.
