Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hello @Aaditya Goyal,
Thank you for your question.
To use Microsoft 365 Education, it is required to have a school‑issued account that is properly licensed by your institution. Without this type of account, the Education version cannot be activated. I would recommend checking with your school’s IT administrator to see if they provide an official academic account (for example, an email address with a domain such as @university.edu or similar).
Please note that at this time, student ID cards or enrollment documents cannot be used to verify eligibility for Microsoft 365 Education. As an alternative, you may still be eligible for a student discount or up to 12 free months of Microsoft 365 Premium, which includes the desktop versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications. You can learn more here: Microsoft Student Discount on Office, Word | Microsoft 365
During the verification process, if you do not have a school email, you can select “Use another method” and then choose “I don’t have an academic email”. From there, you may be asked to verify your student status using other methods, such as:
- School account details (if available)
- Enrollment information or a verification code
- Student ID
- Documents such as a dated student ID, class schedule, progress report, or acceptance letter
Thank you again for reaching out and for your understanding. While Microsoft 365 Education is not available without a school‑issued email address, the student discount option may help meet your needs in the meantime.
Kind regards,
