See my previous question about this in another thread.

I have a full storage C: drive and the videos are taking up the space. How can I remove Clipchamp videos safely? Please answer as a human being.

I have a program "Duplicates" and I ran it and there are many many duplicate files. I just don't know which files to delete.

    For example, see below.

I'm still working my way through your suggestions how to delete the Clipchamp files.

Download the free TreeSize app from the Microsoft Store.

Very Important - to run TreeSize, you must right click its icon and choose Run as Administrator.

    1

Please provide a screenshot of your C drive in that TreeSize utility, so I can see your hard drive and work out where that space is being used and if there is an underlying problem.

    2

Please provide a screenshot of where you are finding the ClipCHamp files, they may just be temp files created when encoding videos with ClipCHamp or may be the completed video projects.

Please ensure the full TreeSize window is in the screenshot, there is information on the top and bottom bars I needs to see.

To safely remove Clipchamp videos and free space on the C: drive, there are two separate things to consider:

    1. Remove Clipchamp temporary/cache files (safe, but may require relinking media later)
    2. Remove or move finished video files and source media (your own files) using normal file management

    1. Remove Clipchamp temporary files

How this is done depends on whether Clipchamp is used in the Windows desktop app or in a browser.

    A. If using the Clipchamp desktop app (Windows app)

    There are two supported options.

Option 1 – Reset the Clipchamp app (clears cache and temp files)

    1. Close Clipchamp.
    2. Open the Windows Start menu.
    3. Go to SettingsAppsInstalled Apps.
    4. Find Clipchamp in the list.
    5. Select the three dots (…) on the right → Advanced options.
    6. On the next screen, select Reset.

This deletes the app’s data cache including temp files and frees the disk space used by them.

Option 2 – Manually delete the temp folders

    1. Open File Explorer.
    2. Navigate to: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Packages\Clipchamp.Clipchamp_yxz26nhyzhsrt\LocalState\EBWebView\
    3. Delete all subfolders inside EBWebView.
    4. Empty the Recycle Bin.

After the Recycle Bin is emptied, the space used by these temp folders is freed.

Note: For Clipchamp personal accounts, if content backup is not used, projects may ask to locate media again after temp files are removed. Make sure copies of original media files are available before clearing temp data.

    B. If using Clipchamp in a browser (Edge or Chrome)

    1. Open a Clipchamp editing project in a browser tab.
    2. Open the browser developer tools (for example, in Edge: see developer tools).
    3. In DevTools, open the Application tab.
    4. On the left, select Storage.
    5. On the bottom-right, select IndexedDB and Cache Storage, and deselect all other options.
    6. Click Clear site data.

This clears the Clipchamp temp data stored by the browser and frees that disk space.

For work/school accounts, media is stored in OneDrive/SharePoint and will be re-fetched when projects are opened again.

    2. Remove or move finished videos and other large personal files

Clipchamp exports finished videos to normal folders (e.g., Videos, Documents, or a custom folder). These are just regular files and can be deleted or moved like any other file.

To find and clean up large files on the C: drive in Windows 10 or 11:

    1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
    2. Under This PC, open folders such as Videos, Pictures, Music, Downloads, and any folder where Clipchamp exports were saved.
    3. On the ribbon/menu, choose ViewDetails.
    4. Right‑click in the file list and select Sort bySize to show the largest files first.
    5. Delete videos and other files that are no longer needed.
    6. Empty the Recycle Bin to actually free the space.

If some videos should be kept but not on C::

    • Connect an external drive (USB/SD card).
    • In File Explorer, select the files → Cut → navigate to the external drive → Paste.

This keeps the videos but removes them from the C: drive.
