    Hi david omann

I understand how frustrating this is, especially when you keep receiving codes that won’t work.

Have you already tried the Q&A Assist steps yet? If so, what happened when you tried?

To make sure I guide you correctly, could you please confirm:

    • Are you trying to add the same email account from your computer to Outlook on your Android phone?
    • Is this a personal Microsoft account such as Outlook.com / Hotmail / Live, or a different type of account?
    • Are you receiving the code by email, or through another verification method?
    • Does the code fail only in the Outlook app, or does it also fail if you try to sign in to the same account in a browser on the phone?

In the meantime, please try this one check first:

Try signing in to Outlook on the web via the phone's web browser and check whether the same issue appears there.

For more details, you can check these official references:

Please feel free to let me know how it goes. Thanks for your time and understanding.

Follow these steps to get Outlook working on the Android phone without repeatedly failing codes:

    1. On the Android phone, open the Outlook for Android app.
    2. If prompted for a code from the computer and it keeps failing, stop that flow and instead add the account directly in the app:
      • Tap Add Account.
      • Enter the email address used on the computer.
      • Tap Continue.
    3. When asked how to sign in, choose the normal sign‑in method (email + password, or the sign‑in page used on the computer). Enter the email and password instead of relying on a code that is already failing.
    4. If multi‑factor authentication (MFA) is enabled on the account, follow the new verification prompt that appears (text message, email, or authenticator), and enter that code once. Do not reuse an old code; each code works only once and usually expires quickly.
    5. If the account is a work or school account and manual setup is needed:
      • In Outlook for Android, go to Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account.
      • Enter the email address and tap Continue.
      • Tap Setup account manually.
      • Choose Exchange and turn on Advanced Settings.
      • For a Microsoft 365 work or school account, set the SMTP server to smtp.office365.com, Security type to TLS, and Port to 587, then save.
    6. After sign‑in completes, wait a few minutes for mail to sync from the same account used on the computer.

If Outlook on Android still will not accept codes or sign‑in, use the in‑app help to contact support:

    • In Outlook for Android, open Settings and use Contact Support to chat with an agent.
