Where to find report tab in outlook on mac

I understand you’re having an issue where New Outlook for Mac doesn’t show Report / Report phishing, so you can’t report spam or phishing.  

In most cases, it comes down to one of these: 

• Your Outlook for Mac build doesn’t support the built-in Report button yet, or it’s hidden because you’re on an older version. Outlook for Mac needs version 16.89 (24090815) or later for the built-in Report button experience. 
• You’re using a work/school Microsoft 365 mailbox and your admin has reporting turned off or configured via Defender. Admins control the appearance/behavior of the built-in reporting buttons through User reported settings in the Microsoft 365 Defender portal. Are you signed into Outlook for Mac with a personal Outlook.com/Hotmail account, or a work/school Microsoft 365 account (Exchange Online)?

On Outlook for Mac, the built-in Report button (for reporting junk and phishing) is only available if:

1. The Outlook version supports it, and
2. User reporting is turned on and configured by the admin.

For a Microsoft 365 mailbox in an organization (work or school):

1. Ensure Outlook for Mac is updated to at least version 16.89 (24090815) or later.
2. An admin must:
   • Turn on user reporting.
   • Configure the built-in Report button in User reported settings at https://security.microsoft.com/securitysettings/userSubmission.
3. After that, in Outlook for Mac, select a message and look for Report on the ribbon or message toolbar. Use:
   • Report junk to report junk.
   • Report phishing to report phishing.

If user reporting is turned off or a non-Microsoft spam-reporting add-in is configured instead, the built-in Report button will not appear, even on a supported Outlook for Mac version.

For Outlook.com consumer accounts in a browser (not the Mac app), use the web interface:

1. In the message list, select the message.
2. Above the reading pane, select Report > Report phishing.

Note that marking a message as phishing in Outlook.com reports the sender but does not automatically block them; blocking must be done separately via the blocked senders list.

If the Report button is still missing in Outlook for Mac after confirming the version and admin settings, the organization may be using a third-party spam-reporting add-in that replaces the native Report button.
