hotmail calendar not showing up in Android Google Calendar app

Hi,

I just got the base Samsung S26. I have 2 Microsoft accounts that I used for calendar.

I set up Outlook app on the phone. In the setting, I enabled syncing for Calendar for both Microsoft accounts: 1 outlook and 1 hotmail.

In Samsung Calendar app, I can see both calendars.

In Google Calendar app, I can only see the outlook.com account. The one missing is hotmail

Is there any issue that I need to resolve to make this work? I assumed hotmail and outlook.com are all the same these days but is there any actual difference?

I've followed most of steps. Most importantly, the outlook.com accounts works fine. Only the hotmail.com account has problem. I'd think they should be the same.

I understand why this is confusing, especially since the Outlook.com account shows normally, while the Hotmail account does not.

Another important point from Microsoft is that calendar and contacts will not sync if an account is set up as IMAP or POP. If you re-add the Hotmail account, it needs to be added as the normal Outlook.com / Exchange ActiveSync type so calendar data is available.

Since Samsung Calendar can already see both calendars, Outlook is already exporting the Hotmail calendar to the Android calendar provider. Please try the following steps:

In Outlook for Android, go to Settings.
Tap the Hotmail account that is not syncing correctly.
Select Reset Account.
If that does not help, remove only that Hotmail account from Outlook and add it back again, making sure it is added as Outlook.com/Exchange, not IMAP/POP

Hi,

I have done the step of reset and remove/add-back. The problem persists.

For the AI answer, I don't know how to check an existing account is IMAP/POP. If I remove the account from Outlook app and go to Android Settings -> Account -> Add Account, I don't see option for Exchange / Active Sync.

What else could I try?

On Android, you won’t see separate “IMAP” or “POP” labels in the Outlook app after the account is added. The easiest way to tell what type of account it is depends on how Outlook detects it during setup:

If Outlook automatically signs you in after you enter the email address (no server screen shown), the account is typically being set up as Exchange/ActiveSync.

If Outlook prompts for incoming/outgoing server details, then the account is being added as IMAP or POP.

Please try manual setup again inside the Outlook app:

Remove the account again from the Outlook app only (not from Android system settings)

Open Outlook for Android

Go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account > Add email account

Enter your email address

When available, watch closely for:

Any prompt mentioning “Exchange”, “Microsoft 365” sign‑in

Or a screen requesting server information, which indicates IMAP

If Outlook never prompts for server details and Exchange is not offered, that usually means:

Your email provider does not support ActiveSync, or

ActiveSync is disabled server‑side for that mailbox

At this point, the most reliable next step is to confirm which of the following are supported for mobile clients:

Exchange / ActiveSync

IMAP access (and whether it is enabled)

I followed the step. When choosing email to add, it remembered the hotmail email address. When I select it, it does not prompt for server. So this should be an Exchange/ActiveSync account.

In setting, I turned on sync for this account. It's still not visible in Google Calendar App
