    Hi @Megan Roberts,

Good day, and I trust you’re doing well.

Based on the thread tag and the details you shared, I understand that you’re trying to add two hospital email accounts to Outlook and use the Microsoft Authenticator app for verification with both accounts. Please let me know if my understanding is correct. If not, feel free to share more details so I can provide more targeted assistance.

If this accurately reflects your concern, you can try the steps below to see if they meet your needs.

1/ Add the accounts into Outlook mobile app (IOS)

    • Download the Outlook iOS app from the App Store.
    • Tap Add Account and sign in with one of your email accounts.
    • Follow the prompts to authenticate the account.
    • After the first account is added successfully, tap your profile icon at the top of the app to open the flyout menu.
    • Tap the plus (+) icon under the profile image, then select Add an account to add the second email account.

2/ Add the accounts in the Outlook desktop app (New Outlook)

    • Open the Outlook app and sign in with one of your accounts.
    • Once the first account is added successfully, select the profile icon in the top-right corner of Outlook.
    • From the drop-down menu, select Add an account and sign in with the second account.

Note: These steps apply to the New Outlook. If you’re using Classic Outlook, please let me know and I’ll provide the appropriate instructions.

Also, ensure your account has a valid license that includes the Outlook app (such as Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Business Premium). You can confirm this by going to https://portal.office.com/ > Apps & devices and checking whether Office apps are available for download.

3/ Add Microsoft Authenticator for each account

For one account, go to My account page > Security info > Add sign-in method > Microsoft Authenticator. During setup, you’ll scan a QR code and confirm the connection, linking that account to the app. Once added, the Authenticator app will be used to verify sign-in attempts.

Repeat the same steps for the second account. Both accounts will then be listed separately in the Authenticator app and can be approved independently during sign-in attempts.

I hope this information is useful. Thank you for taking the time to raise this question. If you need any further clarification or assistance, please feel free to leave a comment under this post.

Thank you for your contributions to the forum.

To use both hospital email accounts in Outlook on iOS and secure them with Microsoft Authenticator, set up each account in two parts:

    1. Add each hospital account to Microsoft Authenticator

For each hospital email account (if the organization requires Authenticator or two-step verification):

    1. Make sure the latest Microsoft Authenticator app is installed on the phone.
    2. In a browser, sign in to the hospital account’s security/2-step verification page (often via the organization’s portal) and turn on two-step verification if required.
    3. When prompted to set up an authenticator app, choose the option to use an authenticator app and follow the instructions.
    4. When a QR code is shown, open Microsoft Authenticator on the phone, allow camera access if prompted, and scan the QR code.
    5. Complete the verification step so that Authenticator is registered for that account.
    6. Repeat for the second hospital account.

Microsoft Authenticator can hold multiple work/school and non-Microsoft accounts at the same time.

    1. Add both hospital accounts into Outlook for iOS

Do this once Authenticator is configured for each account:

    1. Open the Outlook app on the iOS device.
    2. At the top of the app, tap the Outlook button next to Inbox, then select Settings.
    3. Tap Account > Add Account.
    4. Choose Email Account, enter the first hospital email address, and follow the prompts.
    5. If multi-factor authentication is enabled, Outlook will trigger the Authenticator verification (approval or code). Approve/complete the MFA.
    6. Repeat steps 3–5 for the second hospital email account.
    1. View both accounts together (optional)

If both accounts are added, Outlook for iOS can show a unified inbox:

    1. Tap the Account icon (three lines or house icon in the upper left).
    2. Tap the All Account icon (gray icon with a house inside) to see a consolidated inbox for all added accounts.

After these steps, both hospital accounts will be in Outlook for iOS, and sign-ins/verification will be handled through Microsoft Authenticator for each account.
