OneDrive for iOS: "using Camera backup on the OneDrive account" is not importing the image file with Adjusted location details

I have clicked photos on my iPhone, and have adjusted the locations of the photos using the Adjust button in the Photos app of the iPhone.

The locations of the photos adjusted on iPhone are showing up on all devices syncing with that iPhone using iCloud account.

However, I am also using OneDrive app on the iPhone and am using Camera backup on the OneDrive account.

But the photos uploaded on the OneDrive account using Camera Upload function on the iPhone do not show the new location on the same photo when checked on the iPhone itself. The photos on the OneDrive account on the same iPhone show the old location even if the Camera upload is done after changing the location on the Photos App of the iPhone. This implies that the OneDrive app on iPhone is not able to recognize the new location entered using Adjust function on the same iPhone.

Anyone else having same experience?

    Hi, SN_01

It looks like OneDrive Camera Upload on iPhone works more like a one-way backup than a true two-way sync, so changes made later in Apple Photos may not be reflected the same way in the OneDrive copy. Apple does let you edit a photo’s stored location in Photos, and even revert it later, so the edited metadata is definitely being tracked on the Apple side.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Upload one of those photos manually from the OneDrive app using Upload > choose the photo from Photos, instead of relying on Camera Upload, and see if that copy keeps the adjusted location. If Camera Upload still uses the old location, it is recommended that you reset the OneDrive app from Profile > Settings > Account > Reset, keep the app running in the background, turn off Low Power Mode, and try again. If manual upload works but Camera Upload does not, that points more to a OneDrive iOS app limitation/bug than to the photo itself.

Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
