Starting outlook fails second time from office 2024 ltsc on windows server 2022 with rds and exchange se on premise

Does anyone know how to fix this issue ?
The first time starting outlook(classic office 2024 ltsc) on my windows server 2022 with rds goes well and then I shut it down and stat it again and then it always fails with the error "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened" untill I delete \appdatalocal\microsoft\office\outlook\16 amd then again it works for one time.

Hi @Fabian

What is your current version of Classic Outlook 2024? If you are not on the latest version, you can try updating your Outlook.

Note: Modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, and IT administrators. It can help fix some problems; however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it.

If the issue persists, you can try rebuilding your .ost file: Close Outlook > Press Windows + R > Type in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook\ > Look for your email address and delete it > Restart Outlook.

Hi Thanks for your response, it was the latest version but I reinstalled my office so now its not the latest anymore, all the things mentioned in your referenced post and reactions I already tried too bad without any progress so far

After doing some further research, I found some users also experience this with the Windows Server + RDS + Office LTSC setup. The current workaround is to create a .bat file to delete the registry keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity

My recommendation is to open a support ticket with the support team via Services Hub

Hey No I didnt used shared computer licensing by default in the installation used the same config as for the desktops install, and there I have the same issue.

But I did enabled it now to test on the rds server but still does not make any difference.

Also removed the outlook profile and the outlook appdata and also ran the activation again.

I also was reading that Shared Computer Activation is not beeing used in office 2024 ltsc on prem ?

Or is this part not relevant if it also occurs on Windows 11 clients ?

Hmm as a workaround for now I delete these keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity

And let the profile beeing automatic recreated with some registry settings applied with gpo

Hopefully microsoft will fix this some day

If you do not have .ost file, might be exchange Cached mode is turned off in Outlook > File > Account Settings > Please check it as well.

Have you tried opening a support ticket with Microsoft support team?

As for now, I have not found any official document related to this issue.
