I have an Android device that has been syncing the Camera to OneDrive since I bought it more than 3 years ago ( 256GB Samsung Galaxy S21). The device has all system updates installed as they were released with no issues at all. The OneDrive app is updated and the account properly set and working since I bought the device. The sync settings are set for syncing photos and videos from my camera either by cellular of Wi-Fi. I have not changed any OneDrive or camera settings but for an unknown reason, OneDrive is syncing Camera photos as it should, but it stopped syncing videos from the Camera folder. My OneDrive storage is 31% from 1TB, hence, it still has enough space available.

None of these options work. My OneDrive videos will not sync to my new Samsung, only the pictures will and not even 1/3 of them. I have completed all steps numerous times. OneDrive is just terrible. I have been a Samsung user since the 90's and owned a cell phone store for 34 years until I sold it a few years ago, so I would concider myself pretty technical. I hate that Samsung decided to stop SD cards and replace it with this garbage cloud storage to be like iPhones since phones won't go beyond 1tb. I've never concidered an iPhone, but they are more reliable when it comes to this. I have now over 4 days invested to get my pics/videos back to my new Samsung via OneDrive. Does anyone know of a better solution?? Google photos is just as bad because they do not save the folders and you cannot view the folders online, which I have about 50. Please help

    Good day Hamza Hassan!

Based on what you described, your Samsung Galaxy S21 has synced camera photos and videos to OneDrive reliably for years with unchanged, up‑to‑date settings. Recently, however, while photos continue to upload normally, camera videos have stopped syncing despite sufficient available storage.

In addition to the suggestions provided by Q&A Assist, you can also try signing out of OneDrive and signing back in to refresh the sync tokens without performing a full reset.

    • Open OneDrive app > Settings
    • Sign out of the account
    • Close the app completely
    • Sign back in and re‑enable Camera backup

Hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes, and I’m happy to help further if needed.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot Camera video uploads from Android to OneDrive:

    1. Confirm Camera backup is enabled for videos
      • Open the OneDrive app on Android.
      • Tap the account image at the top.
      • Ensure Camera backup is turned on and configured to include both photos and videos, and that upload over cellular/Wi‑Fi is allowed.
      • Remember Camera Backup can only be used on one account at a time; verify the correct account is selected.
    2. Check storage and connection
      • Verify Microsoft storage is not exceeded; if storage is full, new files (including Camera Roll) will not upload.
      • Make sure there is a good Wi‑Fi or mobile data connection.
    3. Force a fresh camera upload
      • In OneDrive app settings, turn off camera upload.
      • Go to the OneDrive website and rename the existing Camera Roll (or Camera) folder.
      • Return to the OneDrive app and turn camera upload back on to restart uploads from the device.
    4. Allow OneDrive to run long enough to upload
      • If there are many photos and videos, setup or scanning can take a long time.
      • Open the OneDrive app and leave it running (ideally while the device is charging) so uploads can complete.
      • On Android, ensure OneDrive is allowed to run in the background:
        • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Usage > OneDrive > Launch (options).
        • Select Manage Manually and enable Run in background.
    5. Reset the OneDrive Android app if needed
      • If sync still fails or behaves inconsistently:
        • Open Android Settings.
        • Select Applications > Manage Applications.
        • Find and tap OneDrive.
        • Tap Force Stop, then Clear data and Clear cache.
        • Uninstall OneDrive.
        • Reinstall it from Google Play and re‑enable Camera backup for photos and videos.

After these steps, new camera videos should resume uploading alongside photos, provided Camera backup is enabled for videos, storage is available, and OneDrive can run in the background long enough to complete uploads.
