Account stuck in “Parent or guardian consent required” loop — consent flow errors out

Hi,

My Microsoft account is completely inaccessible. Every time I sign in, I’m redirected to a “Parent or guardian consent is required for this account” page. When I attempt to complete the consent flow by clicking “I’m a parent or guardian,” it fails with a server error: “Something’s not working — It’s not you, it’s us.”

What I’ve tried:

∙	Multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)

∙	Incognito/InPrivate mode

∙	Different devices (PC and phone)

∙	Clearing cookies and cache

∙	Signing in directly at account.live.com

Nothing works. The consent page loops endlessly, and the consent flow itself crashes on Microsoft’s end.

This account was created when I was under 18, which is why it’s flagged as a child account. I am now 19 years old. I have important data on this account (OneDrive files, licenses, apps) and cannot create a new one.

I need someone from the Family Safety team or account support to remove the child/minor flag from my account so I can sign in normally.

Thank you.

Hi! When a Microsoft account is created as a child account, its status changes over time as the account holder gets older. If it still appears as a child account, it may be because enough time has not passed yet, or because the birth date on the account is not set correctly. In that case, it is important to review the date of birth registered on the account.

Also, if you try to use a different adult account instead of the one currently registered as the organizer of your Microsoft Family, you can run into errors like this. To check which account is set as the organizer and review the family status, please sign in here with the affected account: account.microsoft.com/family
