Issue:

Outlook Classic email synchronization issue.

Troubleshooting Steps Performed:

Outlook repair completed

Created a new Outlook profile

Deleted and recreated the OST file

Reinstalled Microsoft Office

Removed and re-added the email account

Removed and recreated the Outlook data file

Checked registry path (HKEY_CURRENT_USER → Microsoft Office → Identity)

Verified Gmail security settings (App password, backup codes, and 2-step verification)

Observation:

The issue was not resolved with the above steps in the existing Windows user profile.

Temporary Resolution:

Created a new Windows user account and configured Outlook.

Email synchronization is working properly in the new profile.

Note:

Creating a new Windows user profile is not a feasible solution for all users.

We are currently checking for a permanent solution from Microsoft support

Did you change your password? That can cause authentication issues.

    That is an authentication error.

Close Outlook, start typing Credential manager on the start menu, open it when it comes up. Under Windows Credentials, find MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2:[code and expand each one and remove.

I have screenshots in this article - https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync-issues-errors-gmail-yahoo-accounts/

Microsoft has this article with a registry edit - but in my experience, deleting it from Cred manager fixes it. https://support.microsoft.com/office/users-get-errors-0x800ccc0e-0x800ccc0f-synchronizing-gmail-and-yahoo-accounts-in-classic-outlook-e5a7b684-7c5c-4848-ab2d-d48291451f67
