My assigned license number isn’t showing, it says unavailable. I need to give it to my right networks provider

    Hi @Margaret Gutierrez,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

To verify your assigned licenses, please sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Instead of checking under Users > Active users, navigate to Billing > Licenses, where you can view the total number of licenses and see how many are currently assigned.

To identify which users are assigned a specific license, please select the license to view the detailed assignment information.

However, if this information's not aligned with what you require, could you please share a screenshot of the “unavailable” status you’re seeing? Having a visual will help me better understand the issue and provide more accurate assistance. Please feel free to include any other details you think might be helpful as well.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

The “unavailable” status usually means the license information for the tenant or product cannot be read or a required license is missing.

For Microsoft 365/Office used with a hosting provider like Right Networks, the key steps are:

    1. Confirm that a valid Microsoft 365 license is actually assigned to the account:
      • A Microsoft 365 admin must go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center → UsersActive users.
      • Select the user account.
      • Open Licenses and apps and verify that the correct license (for example, Microsoft 365 Apps for business/enterprise) is checked.
      • If it is already checked, uncheck it, Save changes, then re‑check it and Save changes again to refresh the assignment.
    2. Make sure the account being used on the device is the same work/school account that has the license:
      • Open Word (or another Microsoft 365 app).
      • Select the profile name/icon at the top.
      • Choose Sign out.
      • Choose Sign in and sign in with the work or school account that has the assigned license.
    3. If a different or incorrect Office edition is installed, uninstall and reinstall:
      • Run the Microsoft 365 Uninstall troubleshooter from the article.
      • Restart the device.
      • Reinstall Microsoft 365 from the correct subscription.
    4. If the environment is using Azure Information Protection/Rights Management and its status shows as Unavailable, that also indicates a missing or invalid license for that feature. In that case, an appropriate subscription that supports Rights Management must be obtained and associated with the Azure AD tenant before license details will be available.

After the correct license is assigned and visible in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, the admin can provide the subscription/license details required by the Right Networks provider (for example, the product name and that it is active), even if a specific “license number” string is not shown in the client UI.

If the license still shows as unavailable in the portal after confirming assignment, the Microsoft 365 or Azure tenant admin should review the subscription status and, if needed, contact Microsoft support to correct the tenant’s licensing state before sharing details with the provider.
