To restore your scanning functionality immediately, I recommend reverting your Office installation to the earlier stability update temporarily, you can see detailed step here: How to revert to an earlier version of Office - Microsoft Support
Once the rollback is complete, please open Outlook, please try to disable update (please keep updates disabled for approximately 2 weeks)
