If no one signs into the tenant through the Azure portal for a pro-longed period of time, it will mark the tenant as inactive. This generally happens around 200 days of inactivity. Once your tenant has been marked as inactive, you have 20 days to contact support to re-activate the account from the first day the tenant was marked as inactive.

When reaching out to support, you will be greeted by an AI bot that will be trying to find as much information as possible to transfer you to the right team. When speaking, please speak clearly. I would say 'Azure tenant locked out due to inactivity'

This will allow the bot to transfer you to the right team.

If it is over the 20 day window, then the system will begin deleting your data and resources on the tenant. This is to comply with Microsoft's data protection policy which can be found here: https://www.microsoft.com/trust-center/privacy/data-management#leave

If it is over the 20 day window, please create a new tenant by signing up to Azure again using this link: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/purchase-options/azure-account

I would, to make it easier, use a different Microsoft account to set one up. Then add your main Microsoft account to the tenant as an administrator.
