Hello! Every time I try to open a specific word document this keeps on popping up and I’m not sure what to do. It only happens with this specific document. This started occurring after I accidentally closed out of the Word app while the document name had a triangle with an exclamation mark next to it. Will I be able to recover this document or will I have to re-do my work?

    Dear @Sam Caballero,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

First of all, I want to begin by sincerely apologizing for the frustration and inconvenience this issue has caused you.

To begin with, may I confirm whether you are using OneDrive and whether AutoSave is currently enabled? Could you please check if the file is available on Word Online? This will confirm if the document was saved to the cloud. If it is saved in the cloud, please try opening it again in the Word desktop app.

On the other hand, have you tried clicking on the blue triangle with the exclamation point in Word? Does it show any options such as Save a Copy? If yes, please click on it and save the file to a known location.

Note: Please note that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Your patience and understanding are highly appreciated. I am looking forward to your response!
