Unable to prepare files for offline

I cannot seem to get all files available for offline. The notification has never changed. There are files that are simply not being made available offline with a Red X next to the file on the application. This is seriously frustrating as one would expect the application to automatically sync everything and make it available for offline use. How do I correct this?

I had the same problem - when making a photo folder offline, several of the photos show up with a red cross against them and are not available off line. I found if I opened these photos, and clicked the "Edit" button, but immediately left the editing mode, the picture became OK offline. This is probably because when you edit the photo it needs to save the modified photo back to its location.

    Hi Rivaash,

    It should work by default.

    Do you see any error?

    Any VPN installed?

Is the WiFi connected to a hotspot?

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

If you are experiencing issues with files not being made available for offline use in OneDrive, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Sync Status: Ensure that your device is online and that OneDrive is syncing properly. If the sync icon shows a red X, it indicates that there is an issue with syncing those files.
    2. File Availability Settings: Verify that the files or folders you want to make available offline are configured correctly. Sometimes, specific files or folders may not be set to sync offline.
    3. Update OneDrive: Make sure you have the latest version of the OneDrive app. An outdated version can cause syncing issues. You can check for updates in the app settings.
    4. Conflicts: If there are conflicts between local and server versions of files, this can prevent them from syncing. Check for any notifications about conflicts and resolve them as needed.
    5. Reboot the Device: Sometimes, simply restarting your device can resolve temporary issues with the OneDrive app.
    6. Check Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access and sync the files in question.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, you may want to consult the OneDrive support documentation or contact support for further assistance.
