I can't see all data in Glint, as I should

Hi,

I'm reaching out because I'm experiencing access limitations in Glint.

I have the following access levels assigned to me: Active Employees, People Operations (a subgroup we've created), and Company Admin. However, I'm unable to see data for our region in APAC; for me it says "Insufficient Data", but my manager who has the same access levels as me (besides Company Admin) is able to see the APAC data. Could you please guide me on what the issue my be? Thank you!

    Dear Elin Engsfelt

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum.

Since I don’t have access to your organization’s specific Glint environment and each tenant can have different configurations and role setups so my explanation is based on how Glint typically handles data visibility and confidentiality. Still, I hope this gives you clearer insights into why the behavior occurs.

While reviewing your case, one common scenario stood out. Even when two users share the same role and the same Region (such as APAC), Glint may interpret each person’s hierarchy scope differently. When a group doesn’t meet Glint’s minimum confidentiality thresholds, the system automatically displays Insufficient Data to protect employee anonymity. You can refer to Microsoft’s documentation for more details on how confidentiality suppression works: Understand Viva Glint confidentiality and suppression in reports

In your situation, it’s possible that you are viewing “Your Hierarchy” while applying the APAC filter. If you don’t directly manage employees within APAC, Glint may detect zero (or very few) respondents, causing the Insufficient Data message to appear. Meanwhile, your manager may be positioned higher in the org structure and therefore sees APAC data at a broader organizational level, where the respondent count is high enough to meet Glint’s thresholds. This is consistent with Glint’s explanation of insufficient and sufficient data suppression: Understand insufficient and sufficient data suppression

You may want to recheck a few things on your side:

    • Whether your view is set to Your Hierarchy or All APAC
    • Whether any additional filters (Country, Office, Employee Type, etc.) are applied
    • Whether the Region/APAC attribute is enabled for your role’s report filters
    • Whether your hierarchy actually contains employees in APAC

Even small differences in filtering or hierarchy scope can cause two users with similar roles to see different results.

I hope this explanation helps clarify the situation. Since my analysis is based on documentation and typical Glint behavior, not your specific tenant setup, for full accuracy and deeper troubleshooting, I’d recommend contacting Microsoft Support Glint for better assistance. It seems like you are experiencing access limitations in Viva Glint despite having the necessary roles assigned. Since your manager, who has similar access levels, can view the APAC data while you cannot, there are a few potential reasons for this issue:

    1. Data Segmentation: You might not have access to specific data segments that your manager does. Even with the same roles, access can vary based on how the data is segmented within your organization. You should check with your Viva Glint admin to ensure you have the required access to the specific data segment for APAC.
    2. Confidentiality Threshold: If the number of respondents in your region is below the confidentiality threshold, you may see an "Insufficient Data" message. This is designed to protect employee confidentiality. You can verify if this is the case by consulting your admin.
    3. Role Configuration: Even though you have the Company Admin role, there may be specific configurations or permissions that are not set correctly for your account. It would be beneficial to have your admin review your access settings.

I recommend reaching out to your Viva Glint administrator to investigate these possibilities further and ensure that your access is configured correctly.
