Under the To Do tab in web/new version of Outlook, how do you assign tasks to others in your organization?

    Hi @Breann Whitford,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for contacting us regarding task assignment in the new version of Outlook.

After reviewing your question, it appears that tasks cannot be assigned to other users directly from the To Do section in the new Outlook or Outlook on the web. This behavior is working as designed, as Microsoft To Do is intended for individual task management only.

However, Microsoft provides Microsoft Planner as the supported solution for assigning tasks to others within your organization. Planner allows you to create tasks, assign them to users, and manage task progress collaboratively.

For detailed instructions, please refer to Microsoft’s official documentation: Assign people to tasks - Microsoft Support.

Once a task is assigned in Planner, it will automatically appear in the assignee’s To Do list under Assigned to me, in addition to being available within Planner.
