    Dear @rick crawford,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I am happy to assist you.

Microsoft may block a sign‑in when it detects activity from a new device, a newly installed application, or a different geographic location, such as when you are traveling. This security measure is designed to protect your account in case someone else attempts to access it. To regain access, please follow the instructions shown on the sign‑in screen, choose where Microsoft should send the verification code, and enter the code to unlock your account.

For more details, please refer to the following article: What happens if there's an unusual sign-in to your account

You can also visit https://account.microsoft.com/security, sign in, and review your Recent activity. Check any sign‑in attempts marked as unusual. If the option is available, select “This was me” to confirm legitimate activity.

Additionally, we recommend setting up Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) to enhance the security of your account. After MFA is enabled, you will be prompted to verify sign‑ins through the Microsoft Authenticator app instead of receiving frequent alerts.

Here is the setup guide: How to add your accounts to Microsoft Authenticator – Microsoft Support Since I do not have access to your account environment, there may be cases where my recommended solutions do not fully resolve the issue or other problems appear. If that happens, please update me right away with any new details or results in the Comment. I will do my best to support you and help find a solution as quickly as possible.

I hope this information is helpful. If you need any further assistance, please feel free to reach out. We are here to help. Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.

If you are traveling in Brazil and receiving notices of suspicious activity, it's important to ensure that your account is secure. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Confirm Your Travel: If you haven't already, make sure to inform your organization about your travel plans. This can sometimes help in reducing alerts triggered by your sign-ins from a new location.
    2. Monitor Sign-ins: Use Microsoft Entra ID Protection to monitor your sign-ins. This tool can help you identify any unusual sign-in attempts and provide insights into whether they are legitimate.
    3. Check for Compromised Activity: Look for any signs of compromised activity in your account, such as unusual inbox rules or unexpected changes to your account settings. If you notice anything suspicious, take immediate action to secure your account.
    4. Use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): If you haven't enabled MFA, consider doing so. This adds an extra layer of security to your sign-ins, making it harder for unauthorized users to access your account.
    5. Contact Support: If you continue to receive alerts and cannot resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance.

By taking these steps, you can help ensure that your sign-ins remain legitimate while you are traveling.
