How to re log in my Microsoft Office Home & Student

2025-12-21T12:29:25.08+00:00

After I went to the MacBook Genius Bar to fix my laptop, all the apps were deleted and my Microsoft account was logged out. Now, I am unable to use Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) because I cannot remember the Apple ID or username I used when I created my Microsoft Office account.

    Hi,

Thanks for telling me what's going on. I get how annoying it is to not be able to get into your Microsoft Office stuff after a repair, especially when you can't remember which account you used. Usually, this happens because Office Home & Student is linked to your Microsoft account from when you first set it up. If you can't get into that account, the apps can't check if you have a valid license.

So, the best thing to do is try to get your Microsoft account back. Go to Microsoft Account Recovery and type in any email addresses or phone numbers you think you might have used. If you're not sure, look through your old emails for anything from Microsoft or Office that confirms you bought it. After you get your account back, just sign in again through any Office app or at office.com to get your license working again.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

To re-log into your Microsoft Office Home & Student on your MacBook, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Open any Microsoft Office application (like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint).
    2. Select "Sign In" on the top right corner of the application.
    3. Enter your Microsoft account credentials (email and password). If you cannot remember your Microsoft account email, you may need to recover it through the Microsoft account recovery process.
    4. If you have multiple accounts, make sure to sign in with the correct one that has the Office subscription associated with it.
    5. Once signed in, you should have access to all your Microsoft Office applications again.

If you are unable to remember your Microsoft account email or password, you can visit the Microsoft account recovery page for assistance in recovering your account.
